Cllr Ian Gerrard (Middle Park & Sutcliffe) has called for a fairer share of police resources for Greenwich Borough.
"In the most recent issue of "The Londoner" produced by Mayor Livingstone, it was announced that the borough of Greenwich will receive a net increase of 4% in its number of police officers by April 2004," commented Cllr Gerrard.
This represents the second lowest of all "Outer London" boroughs. In comparison Bromley will receive an increase of 12%, Enfield 25%, Barking & Dagenham 33 and Brent 38%.
"Greenwich deserves a much greater increase in police numbers if we are to feel safer on our streets and in our homes," Cllr Gerrard added.
"I'm sure local residents will join me in demanding that Greenwich receives a much fairer share of precious police resources and time."
