The borough election results brought mixed results for the Liberal Democrats.
Encouraging increases in votes in some wards were offset by the loss of two council seats as Mark Pattenden (Eltham South) and Ian Gerrard (Middle Park & Sutcliffe) lost out to the Tories and Labour respectively by less than 60 votes each.
However Paul Webbewood was successfully elected as a new Lib Dem councillor in Middle Park & Sutcliffe joining his ward colleague Brian Woodcraft on the council.
Elsewhere in the borough Suzanne Miller came within 83 votes of defeating Labour in Greenwich West ward with a swing of 8.5% to the Lib Dems.
The Lib Dem vote also increased in a number of other wards including Glyndon, Plumstead and Shooters Hill.
