Local campaigner Mark Pattenden demands action to protect green spaces from developers

Eltham South campaigner Mark Pattenden has launched a petition to keep our local sports and playing fields free from housing developers and available for community use.

Mark Pattenden commented:

"The four year struggle against redevelopment of the GAA site in Avery Hill Road demonstrated that some developers will go to extraordinary lengths to concrete over our sports fields. They don't care about our local community.

"Previously London Mayor Ken Livingstone supported our campaign, but he has recently backed down and gone along with the developers' wishes.

"With this petition we want to demonstrate the strength of feeling in Eltham and New Eltham that our playing fields should be upgraded, making them more attractive for community use.

"We want action to protect them from developers!"
