Leonie Barron discusses the local issues with a resident in Plumstead
Plumstead Liberal Democrats have selected local resident Leonie Barron to be the candidate for the by-election on Thursday 25th September.
Leonie was born in south-east London and lives in Plumstead. She has worked in Britain and abroad as a translator and teacher. She is a former international rower and was World Champion in 2002!
Leonie is a member of various environmental campaigns and a keen cyclist - many local residents may have seen her around Plumstead on her bike towing her young son in a trailer behind her.
After her selection, Leonie commented:
"Plumstead needs a strong voice on Greenwich Council, a voice that believes in our area, one that will be loud and clear fighting for a cleaner, safer Plumstead. I will be that voice.
"There are many positive things about Plumstead, we need a local councillor who will bring a passion for the local area and a genuine desire to get things done.
"As the Liberal Democrat candidate in this by-election, I will campaign to make a difference in Plumstead."
Polling will take place from 7am to 10pm at five polling places in the Ward. The polling stations for the by-election are as follows:
